Zig zag Layered Tea Cake

Monday, 25 March 2013

Ingredients:

Flour                              1-2/3 cups
Eggs                                         4 whole
Castor sugar                                 1 cup
Vanilla essence                  1/4 teaspoon
Cocoa powder                    3 tablespoon
Oil                                         1 cup
Baking powder                   1 tablespoon
Milk                                      1 cup

Method:

Pre heat the oven at 180°C.
In a bowl, beat eggs with the help of a beater until eggs become fluffy. Add castor sugar in it and beat it slowly. Then add milk, vanilla essence and again beat. In a separate bowl put flour and baking powder and mix them well. Then add this mixture in the egg mixture and mix it with the help of a spatula or a wooden spoon (as wooden spoon helps to raise the cake well).
Separate that mixture into two bowls. In one bowl add the cocoa powder and mix it while the other bowl remains the same. Now grease the baking pan with tablespoon oil and some flour. Now pour in the plain cake batter in it. Then with the help of a spoon pour the cocoa mixture in a spiral/round way. Then again pour in the plain mixture and repeat the same procedure until all done. Now slowly take the pan to the oven and bake it for about 30-40 minutes. After that take it out and cool it on a wire rack or serve it hot with the evening tea or morning coffee.
The temptation of that cake will surely give you soothing pleasure… :)
